"I saw Norman Rockwell's painting Black Sheep in a Red Dress in a library book forty years ago. A hidden work by Rockwell, which was not intended for public viewing because of the race content. It was one of his very early works. I've been thinking about this painting for 40 years. Now I'm finally mature enough, as an artist, to do it."
