"The peddler is an honest to a goodness worker. He is his own entrepreneur. He is setting a good example selling little knickers knacks, no tricks, straight up cash, it's constructive work. I don't know what happened to him, but he was in my neighborhood. Peddlers have always survived in neighborhoods like ours in Alphabet City."
