Adrienne Albert

Adrienne Albert (b. 1969) is an artist with roots in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Her art career has focused on creating bodies of work.

Albert primarily works in series. Her series Sense of Community, which she began in the early 2000s while working at HAI Studio and recently returned to as a lifelong project, is  "mainly about my interest and  fascination with people and places. It's about real life."

“People in my community survive, it’s all the same all-around New York, people are surviving. It’s a shame that we have to ignore our neighbors who are panhandling. Prices are going up. I find a memorable face, who is outstanding, unique and I photograph them. I see people suffering and I wish I could do something for them. I love people. All I can do is photograph, draw, and paint them.”

Another body of work, Goddesses and Gods, relates to her interest in spirituality. She describes it as surrealist, "an exaggerated sense of reality We all have Gods and Goddesses. I can't think of anything more surreal than spirituality."
