Mr. Coachman often signed the front of his works “ZZZ,” referring to “zig-zag-zig” in Supreme Mathematics, a term understood to signify Knowledge–Wisdom–Understanding. While an association with the Five Percent Nation (Nation of Gods and Earths) has been suggested, this has not been confirmed by the artist. The signed his full name on the back of the work, sometimes accompanied by the inscription “The Artist.”
