Daniel Schack (b. 1964) is a New York artist who has been creating art since the age of five. One of his earliest works, an energetic crayon drawing of a Tyrannosaurus rex raging across the paper, already reveals a striking confidence in his line. Throughout his life, Daniel's practice has remained centered on drawing.

After earning his high school diploma, Daniel spent over three years studying at SUNY Buffalo and SUNY Purchase in the early 1980s. The work he produced during this period included intricately detailed graphic forms and single-page narrative drawings created in sketchbooks.

Over the past decade, Daniel's Lady series and Wiseguy series have come to represent two distinct facets of his artistic identity: the Lady series reflects his desire and attraction to women, while the Wiseguy series serves as a symbolic self-portrait, expressing elements of his personality and emotional life. These series have evolved through his long-term practice of creating one drawing each day.

In addition to his visual art, Daniel has been a prolific writer, regularly publishing his work in zines and on PoetrySoup.com.
